Outreach – Visiting the Sick
This ministry involves visiting or phoning those who are ill or shut in to offer support, encouragement, and prayer on behalf of the parish. For more information on this ministry, call the parish office at 306-653-5126.
Liturgical Committee
“To promote the prayer life of the community, the worship of God, and growth in holiness of the members of St. Francis Xavier community.”
Who would be interested in serving on this Committee? Men and women of faith, concerned about giving glorify to God and helping people to hear God’s word with profit. They will contribute the fruit of their own prayer and reflection and bring every human resource into action in order to plan, organize, and assess.
The Second Vatican Council warns us that ceremonies and organizations are useless unless they help God’s people to reach spiritual maturity. The Liturgy Committee must see that liturgy leads and encourages people to lead better lives and to practice each day what they hear proclaimed on the Lord’s day. It aims to help people grow in Christ, to develop the gifts and virtues God has given them, and to use them for the benefit of the whole community. The Liturgy Committee meets three to four times per year. To become involved or for more information on this Committee, contact Irene Legatt through the parish office.
Please contact Fr. Hoang Nguyen at the office at 306-653-5126.

Hospitality
The ministry of hospitality describes the efforts of a group of people from the parish who create, within the parish setting, an atmosphere of welcome, warmth, and friendship at times of liturgical celebration. Do you like to greet people? Do you have a warm, welcoming smile? Come and become a minister of hospitality to our congregation. Contact the parish office (306-653-5126) for more details.
Welcoming New Comers
New to the parish? You are most welcome! Please pick up a registration form in the Welcoming Area and hand it in the parish office. You will be soon contacted by Fr. Hoang Nguyen. He will give you a little information on life at St. Francis’ and ask if you have any specific concerns or needs.
The last Sunday in May and November are designated Welcoming Sundays. Here new-comers are welcomed publicly to the congregation, and coffee and cookies are served after Mass so acquaintances can be made. All are welcome at all times to join our community.
Eucharistic Ministry
Extraordinary ministers of Communion distribute the bread and the wine, the Body and Blood of Christ, amongst the worshipping community at Sunday morning mass. Each year, in the Fall, there is a training session for our new Eucharistic ministers and those who wish to take a “refresher”. All those confirmed in the Parish are most welcome to consider participating in our eucharistic liturgies in this most reverent ministry. Please contact Fr. Hoang at the parish office at 306-653-5126.
Any parishioner who is housebound and wishes to receive Communion in their home is welcome to phone the parish office at the above number and we will make arrangements.
Marriage Preparation
If you would like to celebrate the sacrament of your marriage at St. Francis Xavier Parish, you are most welcome! In preparation for that marriage we ask that you and your partner join other engaged couples in a marriage preparation program. Please contact the parish office at 306-653-5126 for more information.
