Fundraising Dinner

Fundraising dinner - Columbus Bosco Homes presents its annual fundraiser, the Joe Kammermayer Commemorative Dinner, on Thursday, April 26 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon; with cocktails at 6 p.m. dinner at 6:45 p.m., followed by entertainment. A dessert auction is a highlight of the evening. Tickets are $50 each. Proceeds from the dinner support the Farm School, the Substance Abuse Education Program and nine Family Support Centres. These programs provide essential support to at-risk adolescents, preschool children, and families in our community. From Mourning to Dawn, The diocesan grief support group for widows and widowers begins a spring 2018 session on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.Facilitators, who have themselves also experienced the death of a marriage partner, engage with participants on an 8-week journey of transformation and healing, offering support and encouragement for bereaved spouses.This program is open to participants who have been widows/widowers between 2 months and 2 years.Sessions are held at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Road) on 8 consecutive Tuesdays, beginning March 27, 2018  from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training Level 1 - Become a certified CGS catechist April 22-27, 2018 in Saskatoon.Level 1 Part A training covers all you need to know for Year 1 catechesis for 3-6 year olds. Formation leaders are coming to Saskatoon from Ontario to share their wisdom and experience. A minimum of 10 participants must be registered by March 23 in order for this training session to take place. Sacramental Prep. Workshop

* Sacramental Preparation Workshop for catechists, teachers and parish leaders will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 21 at St Francis Xavier parish, 222 Willow Street, Saskatoon. Insights will be provided from Catechesis of the Good Shepherd formation leaders regarding the preparation of children for reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist. Workshop includes theory on the stage of development of children aged 6-9 years, practical suggestions of child-friendly hands-on presentations to introduce into your sacramental preparation programs. There will be a hands-on experience (practicum) aspect to this workshop. This special one-day only event is being offered by experienced CGS Catechists from Toronto, Carolyne-Marie Petch and Dr. Debbie Zeni. The Seniors' Friendship Club meets each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Welcoming Area. This is an opportunity to come out and join in an afternoon of fellowship, cards, etc, food, and fun. Everyone is welcome. The club's first meeting will be September 13th.
